Honoring Bob’s Legacy, Supporting Our Community
We are honored to introduce the Bob Engstrom Foundation, a non-profit born from love, resilience, and the legacy of our brother-in-law, Bob Engstrom. If you don’t know Bob’s story, it’s the heart behind Westy’s and the reason we believe so deeply in what we do.
When Bob was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer, our family came together, determined to support him in every way possible. One of the ways we rallied was through nutrition—specifically, cold-pressed juice. Bob’s go-to was a vibrant carrot apple juice loaded with ginger and turmeric root. He loved it so much that, after a while, the betacarotene would tint his hands and the tip of his nose a cheerful orange, proof that the nutrition was absorbed and retained by his body.
Despite a prognosis that gave him only a couple of years, Bob faced his diagnosis head-on, transforming his diet and his outlook. His determination paid off: he fought bravely for six years, and at one point, he was even declared cancer-free by Mayo Clinic.
But in June 2024, after experiencing persistent headaches, Bob received devastating news—a rare form of brain cancer, with only weeks expected. Just one month after Westy’s storefront opened its doors, Bob lost his courageous battle in August 2025.
The journey since the summer of 2018 has been a whirlwind of hope, heartbreak, anger, and courage for both Bob’s family and the Westy’s team. Nearly a year after his passing, as we worked through our grief, Bob’s unwavering kindness and spirit inspired us to channel our pain into purpose.
The Bob Engstrom Foundation is our tribute to Bob’s legacy—a commitment to support cancer patients and their families, just as we supported Bob. Through this foundation, we hope to nourish bodies and spirits, one juice at a time, and ensure that Bob’s compassion continues to touch lives for years to come.
Our Mission
The Bob Engstrom Foundation exists to provide direct support to cancer patients in our community. Through the generosity of donors, our foundation will:
Cover the cost of organic juices for cancer patients, ensuring they have access to nourishing, fresh options during their treatment.
Offer resources and support to those battling cancer and their families.
Create a network of care rooted in compassion and community.
How It Works
Donations—large or small—are accepted and fully tax-deductible under our 501(c)(3) status.
100% of your gift goes directly to supporting cancer patients through Westy’s Organic Juice Bar and our outreach programs.
The foundation operates as a separate entity to ensure transparency and maximize the impact of every donation.
Why We Started
When Bob was diagnosed with cancer, we experienced up close the immense challenges that patients and their loved ones endure—not only the physical toll, but also the emotional and financial burdens that come with every step of the journey. We learned that even the smallest gestures—a nourishing juice, a listening ear, a moment of genuine care—can bring comfort and hope during the hardest days.
The Bob Engstrom Foundation was created to honor Bob’s legacy by offering that same compassion to others. While we know we can’t solve every part of this difficult journey, our goal is to be a welcoming starting point—a supportive home base for anyone touched by cancer. Whether you’re the warrior, a spouse or caregiver, or a friend searching for ways to help, we’re here to walk alongside you, ready to lend a hand and a heart during life’s most overwhelming moments.
